Relief for Chipolopolo as Mwepu resumes training

Zambia national team captain Enock ‘The Computer’ Mwepu has resumed training with his Brighton and Hove Albion teammates.

Albion boss Graham Potter confirmed that Enock Mwepu trained with the rest of the group for the first time.

Potter however confirmed that the Zambian international and Jeremy Sarmiento won’t be available for this weekend’s game, joining Jakub Moder on the sidelines

The Seagulls will visit Elland Road to face Leeds United for their final Premier League away game of the campaign on Sunday.

“Enock did a little bit with the group, but this weekend’s game is still a little bit too soon. We’re in the same position as we were against Manchester United in terms of selection,” Potter said.

The Copper Bullets skipper limped off with a groin injury a minute after the hour mark at Molineux Stadium on 30th April as Brighton and Hove Albion cruised to a 3-0 win over Wolves.

Zambia national team boss Aljosa Asanovic will be happy with the news and hope for an even quicker recovery as the Ivory Coast 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers set to start early next month.

The 2012 African Champions will start their campaign with an away fixture against the 2015 Champions, Ivory Coast on 3rd June.
