Rejuvenated Pirates edge Maamba Energy
Maamba Energy 1 – 2 Livingstone Pirates
The FAZ division one Landlords, Livingstone Pirates exhibited another good peformance once more this campaign to emerge victorious over their old rivals Maamba Energy. The miners so there morale drained once again as they suffered a third straight home loss on saturday to a rejuvenated Livingstone Pirates side.
The home side failed to take an early opportunity in the 10th minute when Pirates center backs were caught napping but the striker couldn’t find the back of the net. Both teams had their own chances which they failed to convert into goals. The visitors took advantage of the miners sluck to take the lead on 29th mimute through Steven Mwanza with a nice finish.
Maamba came into the second half stronger than the first half making the visitors chase shadows with hope that they could equalise. They pressed more and more in Pirates half till it paid off. Two Maamba players combined well interchanged passes and pulled one back in the 60th minute with a sublime finish.
Livingstone pirates did not give up in there efforts after the equaliser, They picked up themselves and started keeping the pressure on the mines after making some changes,eventually they scored their second goal courtesy of the supersub Gift “Coaster†Kayonbo with a superb finish in the 85th minute.
All efforts by the hosts Maamba Energy proved futile since the defence of Pirates together with the goalkeeper were solid until the end the match, 2-1the match finished.
