Red Arrows win the 2024 ABSA Cup

Red Arrows edged Kabwe Warriors 2-1 to win the 2024 ABSA Cup at a near capacity Heroes Stadium crowd.

Ricky Banda put the Airmen in the lead just after 26 seconds as Chisi Mbewe’s side started in a good note.

Arrows looked as the dominant side in the opening exchanges with Alassane Diarra controlling the midfield.

The Malian midfielder doubled the lead with a fine finish just two minutes before halftime as the Airmen went to the break with a comfortable lead.

In the second half Kabwe Warriors came back with a bit more purpose.

The magnificent People’s team pulled one back through Godfrey Binga seven minutes into the second stanza.

Kabwe Warriors came close a number of times but the Arrows defence and Charles Kalumba were equal to the task.

The Airmen held on to win their second ABSA Cup title.

Kabwe Warriors defender Killian Kanguluma was named as the player of the match.
