Tourism Minister, RODNEY SIKUMBA, says the provision of quality healthcare and medical services is critical to the growth of the tourism sector.

Mr. SIKUMBA says government is cognizant of the role of the health sector in tourism and is ready to partner with the private sector to improve access to health and medical services in Livingstone.

The Minister said this at the official opening of Q-Medland Hospital and Covid testing centre at Avani Hotel, in Livingstone, Friday night.

And Q-Medland Medical Director, COLLIN WEST, said the hospital is an addition to already existing health facilities and is aimed at enhancing the provision of quality health care in Livingstone.

Dr. WEST said having a medical facility nearby, guarantees tourists and visitors access to quality health care.

Minor Hotels-Zambia Complex General Manager, LAURIE BURR, said  Livingstone, being Zambia’s Tourist Capital, needs medical facilities to boost what the town already has.

And Chief MUKUNI said the partnership between Q-Medland and Minor Hotels is a significant achievement that will improve access to quality health services.
