Pupils back in numbers in Western schools

Schools in Western Province have recorded overwhelming number of pupils attending classes despite opening late due to the outbreak of Cholera.
To this effect, the provincial school administration has embarked on temporal set up of makeshift classrooms to accorded all learners as they wait for the CDF funded modern buildings to be completed soon.
Western Province Education Officer PEGGY CHILEMA has since thanked the parents and guardians for sending their children back to school despite the cholera pandemic earlier.
Ms. CHILEMA adds that her office has further engaged the Barotse Royal Establishment- BRE to come up with an initiative that will ensure improved results for the province this year.
She has told ZNBC news in an interview in Mongu that under the said program with the BRE, more children, especially girls will beĀ  encouraged to attained higher education following the introduction of free learning by government.
