PSMF TOLD EXTEND LOANS TO RURAL AREAS

Secretary to Cabinet Roland Msiska has directed Public Service Micro Finance Company -PSMF to extend its services to people living in remote areas of the country so that they are given equal access of various loan schemes for Civil servants.
Dr Msiska says it’s the mandate of the public service Micro Finance Company to ensure all civil servants have access to such facilities so that the are empowered.
He said the motor vehicle loan scheme must be made available to all civil servant workers regardless of their positions.
Dr Msiska was speaking during a handover ceremony of 14 motor vehicles financed by Public Service Micro finance-PSMF in Lusaka today.
And Dr Msiska further urged state owned companies to implement austerity measures such as the abolishment of the provision of personal to holder motor vehicles to their employees.
He has also the Public Service Micro finance-PSMF of government support.
Speaking at the same event public service Micro Finance-PSMF Chief Executive Officer Mubanga Mwiko said over 136 Million kwacha has so far been spent under the motor vehicle loan scheme.
And Mr. Mwiko said the company spent over 180 million Kwacha in 2018 to finance various loan schemes.
He however said over 200 million kwacha has this year been set aside for financing of various loan schemes.
Meanwhile guardian motors limited general manager Margaret Thompson said the company remains committed to work with Public Service Micro finance-PSMF in ensuring that all civil servants have equal access to brand new motor vehicles.
