PS CHALLENGES CHONGWE COUNCIL

 By Martha Banda:

Permanent Secretary for Special Duties at Cabinet Office NICHOLAS PHIRI has challenged Chongwe Council to always be considerate and inclusive when approving projects in the communities.

This follows the concern raised by some parents with cerebral Pulsy children that are calling on Government to construct special schools for the disabled in the district.

Mr PHIRI says the Local Authority in Chongwe should also ensure that land is allocated for social amenities specifically for people with special needs.

He says government on the other hand is looking at ways and avenues to empower people with different special needs.

Mr. PHIRI was speaking when Natwange Foundation made a donation of about 25 wheel chairs and 25 blankets to children with cerebral Pulsy.

And Foundation Founder, ANITA KAMANGA says this donation has been made possible by the help of various stakeholders.

Meanwhile,  Parents with children with cerebral Pulsy called on Government to construct special schools for the disabled in the district.
