Prosper Chiluya returns as Chambeshi summons 25 local players

Zambia U23 national team coach Beston Chambeshi has summoned 25 local based players as he looks to kick off preparations for the first leg of the final round of the 2019 Egypt U23 AFCON tournament qualification match against Congo Brazzaville.

Chambeshi has recalled U20 AFCON winning left back Prosper Chiluya who missed the the two legs against Malawi. Winger Musonda Siame who was part of the squad that went to the World Cup has also returned to the squad.

Buildcon trio of midfielders Klings Kangwa, Lameck Banda and Ngosa Sunzu have also been summoned.

The Foreign based players contingent that includes Fashion Sakala, Enock Mwepu, Patson Daka and Emmanuel Banda will join the camp in the final stages owing to on-going club engagements. Zambia and Congo Brazzaville will first clash on June 5th at the National Heroes Stadium before heading to Pointe Noire on June 9 for the second leg.

The winner over two legs will qualify to the tournament that will be staged in November in Egypt with the top three teams at the AFCON qualifying to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Zambia was last at the Olympic Games in 1988.
