President HICHILEMA challenges Lower system of Govt

By Masauso Mkwayaya

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says the lower system of Government is not responding to the development aspirations and vision of the top leadership.

The President says it is concerning that the lower organs of Government are blocking efforts to move the developmental agenda from the top leadership.

The Head of State says this is because most of the country’s development needs are managed by local authorities.

And President HICHILEMA has called on state institutions to work in harmony to stabilise the country’s economy.

The President said this at the Economic Growth Forum held under the theme, “Delivering Economic Growth for Zambia” in Lusaka today.

And Finance Minister SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE said Government is determined to create opportunities for people.

International Growth Centre Executive Director JONATHAN LEAPE said Zambia has potential to transform its economy through mining and agriculture.
