President Edgar Lungu can stand in 2021

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu is very eligible to stand in 2021 general elections the Constitutional Court has ruled.
This is in a matter in which three parties had argued that President Lungu cannot be said to have served a five-year term when he only served for less than two years following the death of President Michael Sata.
They have argued that according to the constitution, a term is a period of five years and not two years.
The matter came up for judgement before ConCourt president Judge Hildah Chibomba and Judges Anne Sitali, Mungeni Mulenga, Palan Mulonda, Enock Mulembe, Professor Margaret Munalula and Martin Musaluke.
Justice Chibomba read the judgment on behalf of the other judges.
