Pres. Lungu Honours Second Republican President

FTJ ChilubaPresident Edgar Lungu has hooured sceond Republican president Frederick Chiluba naming a university to be built in Luapula – his home town.

It’s one of the major symbols of recognition being accorded to Dr Chiluba whose retirement was marred with a long court process. Dr Chiluba, the father of Zambia’s new democratic state, was vilified as corrupt before he was acquitted by a Magistrate Court.

The Luapula natives remains the country’s best orator to have ascended to the highest office despite a humble education background.

LUAPULA UNIVERSITY NAMED AFTER FREDERICK CHILUBA

State House, Mwense, 30.06.16— President Edgar Lungu has re-named Luapula University whose procurement process has commenced, after the late second president of the Republic of Zambia Dr. Frederick Titus Jacob Chiluba.

Addressing multitudes of people as Musangu Village during his on-going whistlestop tour of Luapula Province the Head of State said the memory of Dr Chiluba needed to be honoured because he made great contributions to reintroduce plural politics in Zambia.
