Pres. Lungu Filing Nomination Amid Commotion Around Mulungushi Area

Pres. LunguPresident Edgar Lungu and his running mate Inonge Wina are leading the ruling Patriotic Front procession at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre this morning to file nominations for the August 11 elections.

And FDD’s Edith Nawakwi successfully filed her nomination unveiling little known Reverend Clement Mwanza as her running mate.

President Lungu will join two other candidates who successfully filed their nomination in UNIP’s Tilyenji Kaunda and FDD’s Edith Nawakwi.

Nawakwi, who is the only female candidate in the election, exuded confidence pledging to run a united country.

The ruling PF has their slot from 09:00 to 11:00 hours in the race to plot one. Their cadres have brought the house down jamming the already congested streets.

Wynter Kabimba’s Rainbow Party is expected to follow suit.

The PF will shift action to the Copperbelt on Saturday where they will hold a rally at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola. UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema who is yet to name a running mate is expected to file his papers on Friday.
