Zanaco boss Numba Mumamba believes planning ahead will be vital to beat defending Champions Zesco United when the two teams go head to head over the weekend.
The bankers currently lead the log with 23 points but only three points separate them and Red Arrows in fifth place and one loss may see them drop as low as fourth.
“What is important is to plan well so as to beat Zesco United at home . Every team in Zambia is scared of Zesco United but we have the ammunition that can rise to the occasion and get us a positive result that will make us stay on the summit of Stream A,” he said
The former Chipolopolo winger believes home advantage is no longer a factor in football. Numba also feels that Stream A is very tough and its not only Zesco who are a threat.
“Home advantage does not work in football nowadays . What is important is how we apply ourselves on that day otherwise it will be a 50/50 affair,” he said.
“All the teams in our Stream are very good. We need to work extra hard and double our efforts to finish in the top two,” he added.
Zanaco and Zesco United played out to a goalless draw in the reverse fixture and will go head to head this weekend at Sunset Stadium with top spot in Stream A on the line.
