POLICE PRESENCE VITAL -MULENGA

By ZANIS:

Copperbelt Province Police Commissioner, Elias Chushi says crime levels in the region are on the rise.

Mr. Chushi says police are however putting in place measures to curb the escalating levels of crime.

He has said this in a speech read on his behalf by Ndola District Police Officer Commanding, Emmanuel Bwalya.

This was when Ndola Central Member of Parliament, Emmanuel Mulenga donated 50-thousand kwacha and two thousand blocks, towards the construction and upgrading of Hillcrest Police Post.

And Mr. Mulenga said government is determined to ensure that law and order prevails in the country.

He added that there is need to enhance police presence in densely populated communities, so that peoples’ lives and property are protected.

Mr. Mulenga said this can only be done through the construction of more police stations in such areas and upgrading police posts to station levels.

Meanwhile, Kanini ward Councillor, Davies Nsabika said the donation by the area MP towards the project, is commendable.
