By Patricia Mbewe

Police in Lusaka yesterday around 16:40 hours picked an amputated left leg as they were patrolling garden site three area near the sewer ponds.

According to Zambia Police Public Relations Officer Esther Katongo, the lower limb was found with some fresh blood and part of it was bandaged.

Mrs. Katongo says next to it was a black plastic and it is suspected that the discovered leg could have been wrapped on the same polythen after amputation and later disposed it off.

She said the leg has been taken to UTH mortuary for custody while investigations have been instituted.

It is suspected the case could be surgery conducted by an unregistered surgeon.
