POLICE OFFICERS URGED TO BE FIT

By Moombe Hamobola-Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja has directed Zambia Police Service officers to exercise regularly so that they are physically fit ahead of the 2021 General Election.

Speaking in Livingstone when he launched the Zambia Police Service Aerobic-Mania Exercise for the Southern Province, Mr. Kanganja said he wants to ensure all officers are physically fit before the 2021 elections.

Mr. Kanganja said he will be frequently assessing the fitness levels of police officers in all the provinces to gauge which region will have the fittest men and women to maintain law and order.

He said all officers are expected to be physically fit for them to perform their duties effectively and efficiently.

The Inspector General of Police said he has taken up the challenge of exercising physically after getting inspiration from President Edgar Lungu who likes exercises to keep fit.

He said physical exercises have many benefits that include living a healthier life and longevity.
