Women organisations in the country have condemned the abuse calling on authorities to immediately arrest the culprits.
The Non Governmental Organizations Coordinating Council (NGOCC) is deeply disturbed by a video circulating on social media in which Saad is brutally assaulted and sexually abused by some identifiable men.
In the video, due to the beating, the woman becomes unconscious before the men strip her naked and take turns to abuse her to the extent of pushing some objects into her private parts.
NGOCC Executive Director Engwase Mwale says the incident is highly abusive and the highest form of indignity against women.
Ms. Mwale says the womens movement feels insulted in the manner their fellow woman was abused and brutalized, stressing that no human being deserves to be treated in such an inhumane manner by a fellow human being.
She says it is regrettable that for some time now, a number of images have emerged on social media in which
women are sadly brutalized and abused at the hands of men.
Ms. Mwale has since demanded that the Zambia Information Communications Authority (ZICTA) be engaged by the Zambia Police to identify the culprit who brutally beat up the woman in the video so that the law can take its course.
She has further appealed to the Zambia Police Service to engage members of the public through the media to help identify the men who abused the woman in the video.
And the Zambia National Womens Lobby says it is appalled by the behavior of the young men who sexually assaulted the young woman.
ZNWL Board Chairperson Beauty Katebe says their actions constitute a gross violation of human rights which should not be tolerated in Zambia.
Ms Katebe says the acts of barbarism should not be allowed to go unchecked in Zambia, stating that all citizens have a duty to act against such behaviors from the young people in communities.
She has further urged the police to intensify their efforts in investigating the matter and bring to book all the people that were involved in dehumanizing the woman in question.
