Players abroad: Mweene wins PSL , Mwape Musonda is PSL goal king as Mwiinde nets brace to win title

A number of Zambian players playing outside the country were in action over the weekend and produced mixed results.Emmanuel Mwinde scored a brace to help his team win the league while Mwape Musonda won the PSL Golden boot.

Augustine Mulenga assisted twice for Orlando Pirates but a Mamelodi Sundowns win meant the Buccaneers had to settle for second and Chipolopolo first choice goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene was the one smiling with a winners medal.

In DRC, Kabaso Chongo put in a good shift for TP Mazembe who claimed an emphatic 3-0 win over AS Dragons. Rainford Kalaba and Nathan Sinkala were not part of the match day squad.

Orlando Pirates mounted a last day challenge for the PSL with a 3-0 nil win over Polokwane City . Augustine Mulenga set up two goals and put in a 75 minute shift. Salulani Phiri put in a full ninety minutes shift for Polokwane while Justin Shonga was a second half substitute.

Mwape Musonda put in a decent 90 minute shift for Black Leopards helping them to a one nil win over Cape Town City to survive relegation. 24 year old South African defender Khomotso Isaac Masia scored the only goal of the game.

Musonda ended the season with 16 goals to win the PSL Golden boot .

Striker Gamphani Lungu put in a decent 75 minute shift for Supersport United while defender Billy Mutale was an unused substitute in Matsatsantsa’s one nil defeat at home to Highlands Park.

Zambia national team first choice goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene was an unused substitute for Mamelodi Sundowns who beat Free State Stars to win the 2018/19 South Africa Premier Soccer League.

Former Nkana captain Donashano Malama put in a full shift for Chippa United who claimed a vital one nil win over Kaizer Chiefs to survive relegation.

Former Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda’ Baroka FC picked up a very important point as they played out to a one all draw with Maritzburg United.

In Tanzania, Clatous Chota Chama and his Simba SC team mates suffered a one nil defeat to Kagera Sugar.

In Austria, Striker Patson Daka was a second half substitute for Redbull Salzburg who claimed a 2-1 win over LASK Linz. Midfielder Enock Mwepu was not part of the match day squad.

In Belgium, Zambia U23 national team striker Fashion Sakala put in a 64 minute shift for KV Oostende who succumbed to a huge three bashing at the hands of Westerlo.

In China, Veteran striker Jacob Mulenga put in a full ninety minute shift for Liaoning Kaixin who cruised to a 4-1 win over Shanghai Shenxin.

In France, Chipolopolo defensive kingpin Stophila Sunzu put in a full ninety minutes shift for FC Metz who suffered a one nil loss at the hands of Nancy.

Elsewhere, Midfielder Emmanuel Banda was left out of the AS Beziers 18 member match day squad because of a suspension after accumulating yellow cards.

Beziers played out to a goalless draw with US Orleans to push the survival race to the final match day.

In Isreal, Left back Emmanuel Mbola put in a 66 minute shift for Bnei Sakhnin who were handed a huge three nil thumping by Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Zambia U20 national team striker Emmanuel Mwinde scored a brace and set up a goal to help Maccabi Petah Tikva U19 beat Maccabi Tel Aviv U19 4-1 to win the Israeli Elite U19 league.

In Poland, Winger Lubambo Musonda is still recovering from an injury and missed Śląsk Wrocław 2-1 win over Wisła Płock.

In Portugal, Winger Kenneth Kalunga put in a ninety minute shift for CF União Lamas who beat Mourisquense 2-1.

In Russia, Striker Evans Kangwa put in a decent 62 minute shift for Arsenal Tula who secured maximum points and boosted their European football hunt thanks to a one nil win over FK Anzhi Makhachkala.

In Sweden , Forward Edward Chilufya was left out of the Djurgården IF match day squad for their 2-0 loss at home to AIK in a Swedish Allsvenskan encounter.
