Players abroad: Mwape Musonda nets three, Saith, Lifumpa and Chirwa on target

Zambian players abroad were in action over the weekend and posted mixed results. Mwape Musonda scored a hatrick while Saith Sakala, Augustine Mulenga, Lifumpa Mwandwe and Obbrey Chirwa scored a goal each.

In South Africa, Mwape Musonda scored a hatrick to help Black Leopards fight back from two goals down to beat Chippa United 3-2.

The Hatrick was the first recorded in the PSL since May 2017. Former Nkana captain Donashano Malama put in a 79 minute shift.

Elsewhere, Winger Augustine Mulenga came from the bench to score the equaliser for Orlando Pirates in their CAF Champions League group B 2-2 draw with FC Platinum.

Former Nkwazi striker Justin Shonga put in a full 90 minute shift.

Midfielder Salulani Phiri put in a full 90 minute shift for Polokwane City who secured a two nil win over Golden Arrows.

Former Power dynamos duo of defender Billy Mutale and striker Gamphani Jones Lunge were left out of the Supersport match day squad for their one nil win over Free State Stars.

Former Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda’s Baroka were handed their second successive defeat losing 2-1 away at Highlands Park.

Chipolopolo first choice goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene was left out of the match day squad for Mamelodi Sundowns who secured an easy three nil win over Lobi Stars in CAF Champions Encounter.

In DRC, Defender Kabaso Chongo put in a full shift while midfielder Rainford ‘The Master’ Kalaba played the first 64 minutes for their DR Congo side TP Mazembe who played out to a one all draw with Ismaily in a CAF Champions League encounter.

In Tanzania, Striker Obrey Chirwa netted a goal for AZAM in their 6-1 routine win over JKT Tanzania.

Midfield ace Clatous Chota Chama played 75 minutes in Simba SC’s two nil defeat away against JS Soura.

In Austria, Midfield ace Enock Mwepu put in a 78 minute shift for Redbull Salzburg who played out to a goalless draw against Sturm Graz. Patson Daka was an unused substitute and will most likely start in the UEFA Europa league round of 16 second leg against Napoli on Thursday.

In Belgium, Striker Fashion Sakala put in a 66 minute shift in KV Oostende’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of KAA Gent.

In England, Zambia U20 winger Lifumpa Mwandwe scored a goal as his Shrewsbury U18 suffered a heavy 5-2 defeat at the hands of Rochdale U18.

In France, Midfielder Emmanuel Banda put in a full shift for AS Béziers who were held to a one all draw by Le Havre in a French Ligue 2 encounter.

In Israel, Defender Emmanuel Mbola put in a full shift for Bnei Sakhnin who played out to a goalless draw with Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

U20 national team striker Emmanuel Mwinde put in a 90 minute shift for Maccabi Petah Tikva U19 who were held to a goalless draw by Ashdod U19.

In Poland, Winger Lubambo Musonda put in a 64 minute shift for Śląsk Wrocław in their Polish Ekstraklasa 2-0 win over Jagiellonia Białystok .

In Portugal, Winger Kenneth Kalunga was involved in one of the goals in the Uniao Lamas two nil win over Alvarenga.

In Russia, Striker Evans Kangwa came from the bench to play the last 45 minutes for Arsenal Tula in their Russian Super League encounter away at FK Rostov.

In Saudi Arabia, Saith Sakala scored his 13th goal for Al Tae helping them to fight back from two goals down to hold Al Orubah to a 2-2 draw.

In Sweden, Zambia U23 forward Edward Chilufya was withdrawn after 28 minutes minutes due to injury. His Djugaderns IF went on to beat Hammarby on post match penalties.
