Players Abroad: Clatous and Shonga find the back of the net

Zambian players abroad were in action over the weekend with former Lusaka dynamos captain Clatous Chota Producing a master piece. Justin Shonga was also on target.

In DRC, Kabaso Chongo put in a full shift, Rainford Kalaba played 69 minutes while Nathan Sinkala was a second half substitute as TP Mazembe beat CS Constantine 2-0 and progress to the quarter finals of the CAF Champions League.

In South Africa, Striker Justin Shonga came from the bench to score a late goal but it was not enough as Orlando Pirates lost 2-1 away in Guinea at the hands of AC Horoya and bowed out of the CAF Champions league. Augustine Mulenga came in in the 23rd minute to play the rest of the match.

Elsewhere, Former Zanaco midfielder Salulani Phiri put in a full shift as Polokwane City held Ben McCarthy’s Cape Town City to a goalless draw.

Former Nkana captain Donashano Malama was replaced by Mark Mayambela after 31 minutes in Chippa United one all draw with Highlands Park.
