PF’s Loss In Ilambo Ward By-Election Embarrassing – Lungu

President Edgar Lungu has described the PF’s recent loss in the Ilambo ward by-election in Lupososhi Constituency in Northern Province as embarrassing and a setback.

And the head of state has urged party structures in Northern Province to remain strong and united even after the loss of the by-election to the opposition UPND.

Speaking to party officials upon arrival in Kasama district this morning for a two day working visit, President Lungu said the party has since instituted an investigation to ascertain what caused the loss of the local government seat.

He has however urged the people of Northern Province to work together and stop finger pointing as this has the potential to distract the party’s focus for the 2021 general elections.

In the recently held ward by elections, the UPND beat the PF after amassing 805 while the PF managed 635 votes in the Ilambo ward.
