PF thugs attack Maureen Mwanawasa

Former First Lady Maureen Mwanawasa and her campaign team were Friday afternoon attacked by thugs suspected to be from PF.

Dr Mwanawasa, who is vying for the position of Executive Mayor for Lusaka on the opposition UPND was on the way to Kabwata for campaigns.

She has confirmed the incidence and says:

There is no way to stop an idea who’s time has come. We were scheduled to meet with our supporters in Kabwata this afternoon when the PF thugs attacked our team.

A number of people have been hurt , we are yet to establish if we had any fatalities. But one thing I can guarantee you is this “sticks and stones will break our bones, but not our spirit.”

Time has come fellow Zambians to vote out thuggery. Time has come to vote out mediocrity. Time has come to vote in proper leadership that is God fearing and serious about Governing a country where everyone will live in peace.

Your vote will either consign this country to a bleak or BRIGHT future on 11th August 2016. Vote for UPND at all levels fellow countrymen if only for posterity to judge us correctly.”

Political violence has heightened in Zambia especially in the capital ahead of the August elections.
