PF SG CALLS ON MWATA KAZEMBE

Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Mwila says the ruling party will only adopt a candidate that will be recommended and backed by the ordinary people in the forthcoming Mwansabombwe Parliamentary by-election.

Mr. Mwila says the PF will ask for the views of ordinary residents on the person they want before the Central Committee makes a final decision on the official candidate.

ZANIS reports that Mr. Mwila was speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Mwata Kazembe of the Lunda people in Mwansabombwe district.

He said the PF will not ignore the feelings of the ordinary people in the constituency during the adoption process.

The Mwansabombwe Parliamentary seat fell vacant following the death of area member of parliament Rodgers Mwewa.

And Mr. Mwila has donated Covid-19 materials to Mwata Kazembe to help in the prevention of the pandemic.

Mr. Mwila also called on Mwansabombwe residents not to relent in fighting the pandemic, owing to the recent spike in the number of Covid-19 cases.

Meanwhile, Mwata Kazembe has appealed to government to emphasise prevention strategies as opposed to treatment of Covid-19.

He said implementing prevention measures will save the nation resources in the wake of the prevailing economic challenges.

The traditional leader further advised against the politicising the fight against the Covid-19.
