PF Scoops Kaande Ward

The Patriotic Front -PF-has scooped the Kaande by-election in Mongu Central Constituency.Kaande Ward Returning Officer, Abraham Mobola declared Hastings Nasilele from PF as the duly elected councilor at 22:33 hours at Kaande totaling centre.Mr Mobola said the PF candidate polled 603 votes against his closest rival, Francisco Perera from United Party for National Development -UPND- who got 409 votes.He said out of the 1, 718 registered voters in the ward, 1, 016 cast their votes while six votes were rejected.And the newly elected Kaande Ward Councilor, said he will ensure that development is delivered to the door steps of many people in the area as he has been elected by the majority electorates in the ward.Mr Nasilele said he will work with various government institutions in the province in order to bring development in the ward.And Western Province PF chairperson, Bright Kufuka has congratulated the people of Kaande ward in Mongu district for voting for the PF candidate.Mr Kufuka said that Western Province is no longer a UPND stronghold as PF has penetrated all angles in the region.He said people have realized that development can only be attained if they work with government.
