PF Leads Chilubi Council Polls

The Ruling Patriotic Front PF candidate in the Chilubi Town Council BY- Election, ROSEMARY CHIMBINI has taken an early lead.
ZNBC’s ROBERT MWANZA reports that according to the provisional results announced by the Electoral Commission of Zambia- ECZ, Ms. CHIMBINI has so far poured 3933 votes.
This is from 21 out the total number of 62 polling stations.
UPND’s candidate RISTO MUSHEMBE is second after pouring 946 votes so far.
Third is Peoples alliance for Change candidate MARK MPUNDU who has 549 votes.
United peaceful and prosperous Zambia candidate STANDFORD CHIKUMA has 144 votes.
Meanwhile, 40 minutes after midnight, the counting at the totaling centre was suspended to 06hrs to allow the ferrying of ballot boxes from far flaying areas that required the services of a Chopper.
However, the chopper could not fly after 18hrs because the airstrip in Chilubi has not lights for safe landing of the aircraft.
