PF HEADED FOR VICTORY IN CHILUBI BY-ELECTION

By Brian Mwale:Provisional results from 59 out of the 62 polling stations in the Chilubi parliamentary by elections have put PF candidate Mulenga Fube with an 11-thousand 2-hundred and 69 votes margin ahead of his closest candidate UPND’s Stanislaus Chele.Mr. Fube has 15-thousand 8-hundred and 56 votes while Mr. Chele has 4-thousand 5-hundred and 87 votes.Chilubi Constituency Returning Officer John Longwe says the remaining three polling stations with a registered population of about 2-thousand votes will only be announced tomorrow morning as they will have to be airlifted from the swamps.NDC candidate Henry Kalenga has polled 1-thousand 2-hunsred and 63 votes while Mark Mpundu of PAC polled 9-hundred and 97 votes with the least being UPPZ’s Charles Kalaba trailing with 2-hundred and 68 votes.Total votes cast are 23-thousand 6-hundred and 37 votes of which 6-hundred and 66 ballots were rejected.The ECZ has since suspended operations for tonight.
