PETAUKE YOUTHS GUIDED OVER POLITICAL VIOLENCE

(ZANIS) Youths in Petauke District have been advised to desist from all forms of political violence before, during and after the August 12th polls.

Petauke District Youths Forum President Carlos Chama says youths have the potential to use their capacity as peace building actors and contribute to strengthening democratic governance of the country.

Mr. Chama was speaking during a meeting held at Mumbi Primary School, with youths drawn from Ongolwe ward of Petauke Central Constituency.

He said that youths should invest their energies in activities that would hasten national development and promote peace and security of the nation.

Mr. Chama noted that the involvement of youths in political violence by some selfish aspiring candidates in Petauke remains a source of worry to many well-meaning Petauke residents.

He said Zambia has been receiving applause from other countries because of the peaceful election organization hence the need for youths and those vying for various political positions to follow the trend.

Mr. Chama reminded his fellow youths that Zambia will still exist even after elections adding that it is therefore the duty of every youth to ensure that the Country traverses this electoral season peacefully.
