Patriots for Economic Progress (pep) has charged that the Auditor General’s report on the accounts of the republic of Zambia for the financial year ended 31st December 2017 is falsified in order to paint a positive picture about the performance of the patriotic front and its government in terms of accountability of public resources.

Party Leader Sean Tembo says the report has worsened by the fact that the financial intelligence centre trends report for 2017, which was released a few months ago, clearly showed a significant increase in waste of public resources as determined by various indicators including but not limited to misappropriation of funds.

He has told QTV news that this contradiction between the findings of the financial intelligence centre and those of the auditor general, relating to the same financial period of the republic of Zambia, caused his party to investigate this matter further.

And Mr. Tembo is of the view that the pf and its government will now soon be targeting the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) in order to undermine it and put a compromised management team.
