Patson Daka Is the Newest Profiling Europe’s Goal Machine

Daka was born on 9th October 1998 in Chingola, Zambia. In Zambia, he has played for Power Dynamos, Nchanga Rangers, and lower-tier side Kafue Celtic. People started noticing Daka when he was on the ranks of Nchanga Rangers. Thanks to sportsbooks like Betway, all leagues get attention as punters look for teams to bet on. Before that, he was identified amongst the
Airtel rising stars. He played for Chris Kaunda’s U-17 national team with Prosper Chiluya and Enock Mwepu.

The U-17, U-20, U-23 and senior coaches saw Daka’s potential when he was 16 years old. He never performed well at the time, but he was always given a chance to play. On 2nd January 2016, he was loaned to Power Dynamos. He scored in the first game of the season against Napsa Stars. In the second half of the season, he scored 11 goals and hence managed to be among the top 3 goal scorers in the league.

Coach Beston Chambeshi included him in his U-20 COSAFA tournament. Daka scored two goals for the team, thus making them win the cup. It is for this reason that Daka won the title of young player of the Year.

He later joined the Austrian side FC Liefering on a loan deal where he stayed for six months. He then returned to Zambia to be part of Beston Chambeshi’s ‘Dream Team’ that won the U-20 AFCON Title. He scored four goals and hence named, the player of the tournament. Daka was slowly endearing himself to football enthusiasts and punters on betting sites like Betway. Later, Daka was added to the Redbull Salzburg youth team for the UEFA Youth League. He scored in the semi-finals against Barca B and Benfica in the finals. He helped Salzburg U-19 win the title. Salzburg gave him a permanent five-year contract. The contract was supposed to end on 31st May 2022 but was extended to 2024.

Daka’s current market value is 7.20M USD. His highest was 8.00M USD in December 2019. He is currently the topmost striker in Zambia. He has played a total of 1798.2 minutes out of 2790 league minutes for Salzburg.

Daka is vying for European golden shoe. He is at position 12 ahead of distinguished players like Karim Benzema and Emmerick Aubameyang. Every goal that is scored is 2.0 points in Italy, France, Spain, Germany, and England. It is 1.5 points in Austrian Bundesliga. This makes Daka’s points amount to 36. If he played for the big five European leagues at all, he would have been ahead of Ronaldo and Messi at position 5 with 46 points. His performances must have given punters on Betway and other sportsbooks food for thought as they wagered on a team he plays against.

Daka is second in the Austrian Bundesliga with 24 goals. He is the only Zambian player to have played six games in the UEFA Champions League and scoring one goal. He has also played two games in the Europa League but did not manage to score any goal. He has played six games in the OFB Cup as well and scored two goals.

This season, Daka has managed to score 27 goals in a total of 44 games. This is very remarkable, bearing in mind that he is only 21 years old. Last month, he scored a second goal against TSV Hartberg, making him the first Zambian to score 20 goals for a European club.

Now, which European club is going to sign in Daka? There are reports that AC Milan and RB Leipzig are interested in him. Is he going to remain at Red bull Salzburg for another season?
