Salzburg came into the match knowing a win would hand them the title and were in high spirits after they clinched the Austrian Cup on Wednesday thanks to a two nil win over Rapid Wien.

Brazilian defender Andre Ramalho captained the team for the first time this season as Germany Bundesliga bound Coach Marco Rose named a much changed side.

After a goalless first half the hosts, Austria Wien took the lead in the lead in the 71st after a volley from Dominik Prokop. Salzburg leveled matters ten minutes later after Xaver Schlager kept his cool to finish off from close range.

Hannes Wolf scored the winner five minutes later with a long range finish which was deflected to give Salzburg a 2-1 victory.

The win means Salzburg clinch the title for the sixth time in a row and the second time in a row for Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu.

Daka put in a decent 60 minute performance and came close to scoring while Enock Mwepu was an unused substitute.
