Patson crowned Salzburg best for February

Zambia National team striker Patson Daka has been crowned as Redbull Salzburg player of the month of February after he got 57% of the votes more than three times as many as the person in second place.

The former Power dynamos striker was up against defenders Marin Pongracic, Stefan Lainer and midfielder Xaver Schlager.

The 2017 CAF young player of the year had a phenomenal mid-season break proving his goalscoring ability in impressive fashion with three goals in friendly matches. The performance did not go unnoticed by Coach Marco Rose who acknowledged his strong performances by giving him a starting berth in the UEFA Europa league round of 32 second leg against Club Brugge .

The 20 year old took the opportunity gracefully scoring two superb goals and an all round great performance to help the Austrian Bundesliga giants to the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League.

Marin Pongracic came in second with 15% of the votes . The defender had an impressive February including assisting Patson Daka’s first goal against Club Brugge.

Stefan Lainer came out third with 14% of votes while Xaver Schlager who assisted Patson’s second goal against Club Brugge and scored the opener came out last.

Patson and his Redbull Salzburg team mates face Napoli this Thursday in the first leg of their UEFA Europa league round of 16.
