Papa goes in too deep, steals K260,000 from his congregant, Police say

A LUSAKA pastor identified as John Simfukwe of Inter-denominational Jesus Ministries in Chipata Overspill compound has been arrested by police for swindling his congregant K260, 000.The named pastor is allegedly to have collected a K170, 000 from one of his female congregant identified as Mildred Chikote in 2016 with a view of buying a house for her which he never did.Deputy police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga who confirmed the development to Mwebantu said the pastor further obtained a K90, 000 from the same congregant in the name of blessing her money which was meant for her business, which he also never returned.Hamoonga said the suspect is currently in Police custody and has been charged with two Counts namely of obtaining Money by False Pretences and Theft and that he will appear in court soon.And Hamoonga has warned all those criminals hiding behind the pulpit with a sole purpose of swindling vulnerable congregants that police shall deal with them and make them account for their actions.
