Over K26m paid to Mafinga farmers

By Ruth Chayinda

Over 26-million kwacha has been paid to farmers who have supplied maize to the Food Reserve Agency -FRA- in Mafinga district.

The payments are for the 2022/2023 maize marketing season.

FRA Mafinga District Assistant Marketing Officer MICHAEL DAKA says the district continues to receive maize from the farmers in the 17 depots in the area.

Mr. DAKA said this when Mafinga Member of Parliament ROBERT CHABINGA visited some depots in the district to check on how the exercise is going.

And Mr. CHABINGA commended the ministry of agriculture for the early payment to farmers saying it is unprecedented.
