Over 30 Contractors, Local & Foreign, Face Deregistration

The National Council for Construction (NCC) says over 30 Contractors both local and foreign face deregistration.

NCC Executive Director, Mathew Ngulube says the contractors have not been compliant with the regulations of the NCC Act.

He has told Q-news in an interview that the Council has since given the contractors a 7 days ultimatum, stating that failure to respond to the notice would result in their deregistration.

Mr. Ngulube has cited the regulation that requires foreign companies to partner with a local entity for them to be awarded a contract as one of the most violated.

Mr. Ngulube says the NCC will not hesitate to revoke certificates of non compliant contractors.
