OVER 1,000 KAMFINSA POLICE RECRUITS UNLEASHED

By Paul Shalala- Inspector General of Police KAKOMA KANGANJA has directed all Police officers to use force and deal with political cadres who are intimidating officers during the election period.

Mr. KANGANJA says it is embarrassing to see Police officers being disrespected by cadres on some videos which have been posted on social media.

Speaking at the School of Public Order Maintenance Kamfinsa in Kitwe when he sent off one thousand 2-hundred and 30 Police recruits to police the General Election, Mr. KANGANJA said the use of force is allowed by law.

The Inspector General of Police has directed the recruits to be firm, impartial and fair as they police the elections.

Meanwhile, Mr. KANGANJA has condemned the violence which characterised a clash of PF and UPND cadres in Isoka District, Muchinga Province which led to the destruction of property yesterday.

Mr. KANGANJA said Police will deal with all perpetrators and ensure cadres do not hide behind political parties to commit crimes.

He has asked Police officers to arrest all perpetrators and charge them as individual law breakers who should not use politics to commit offences.

Mr. KANGANJA has assured the nation that the country will be peaceful before, during and after next week’s general elections.

He adds that the deployment of soldiers from the Zambia Army, the Zambia Air Force and the Zambia National Service is an assurance for all Zambians to vote in a safe environment.

The Inspector General of Police further promoted 14 Police Instructors from the rank of Constable to Sergeant.

Meanwhile, School of Public Order Maintenance Kamfinsa College Commandant PATRICK BILI said the recruits are well prepared to Police the 2021 General Election.

Mr. BILI said since the recruits started training in April this year, they have learnt Election Policing, the Electoral Code of Conduct, the Public Order Act and Weapon Handling.
