“OUR JUDICIAL IS OF INTERNATIONAL REPUTE”

Foreign Affairs Minister Joe Malanji says Zambia has an independent judicial system that has gained international recognition.
Mr. Malanji however says Zambia is still looking at selected judicial reforms.
He was speaking during the bilateral talks he held with his Gambian Counterpart Mamadou Tangara.
This was on the sidelines of the 20th extra ordinary session of the African Union executive council in Ethiopia.
ZNBC’s Ruth Chainda reports from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia that Mr. Malanji has since advised the Gambian minister to write a formal letter requesting for judges from Zambia to work with the Gambian judiciary.
The minister said once the request is made, it will be given recommendation from the executive arm of Government due to the cordial relations between Zambia and Gambia.
And the Gambia Minister of Foreign Affairs said there is need for Zambia and Gambia to work on a Technical cooperation agreement to enable Zambia help his country with judges.
Dr Tangara explained that his country has relied on foreign expertise especially in the judiciary because Gambia has not had a university for 30 years.
