The United Party for National Development – UPND in North Western Province says it is disappointed that  only two political parties are contesting the Chikenge Ward By-election in Kabompo despite six political parties having expressed interest to take part .

UPND and Leadership Movement are the two parties that successfully managed to have their candidates file in their nominations.

UPND North Western Province Chairperson STAFFORD MULUSA says he expected more political parties to contest the local government by-elections owing to the conducive political environment created by UPND.

Speaking in an interview with ZNBC in Kabompo, Mr. MULUSA said he is confident that the party will win the Chikenge By-elections as they have proved that they are capable of fostering development.

Meanwhile, Leadership Movement Aspiring Candidate JAMESON PHIRI is confident of winning  the May 2nd,  elections owing to his developmental agenda that is people driven.
