Nuclear Centre To Enhance Economy-Msiska
The Head of Zambia Atomic Energy Corporation Roland Msiska says the setting up of the nuclear research center in the country will have a positive impact on the country’s economy.Dr. Msiska says the center will help in upgrading the treatment of cancer diseases which are mostly done outside the country.He says the country imports radioisotopes from south Africa every two weeks which is costly.Dr. Msiska said the move will help to reduce in the expenditure and more patients will have access to treatment because it will be done locally.Dr. Msiska said this when he held a consultative meeting with doctors dealing in nuclear energy at UTH.He said it is important to get a wide consultation from Doctors based in the field if the center is to be successful as they know what is needed.
