No sacred cows in graft fight-HH

Hector Simfukwe-President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says the corruption crusade is in effect and that there shall be no sacred cows.

President HICHILEMA says the process to recover all stolen government assets is in motion and those involved in the plunder of public resources are already playing victim.

He says government will require the support of everyone in the recovery of the stolen assets.

President HICHILEMA says the proceeds of the stolen assets will be channeled to the development of the country and improvement of the lives of the citizens.

He says there will be no political hand in the fight and that no one should be arrested before investigation.

He said this when members of Our Civic Duty Association (OCIDA) paid a courtecy call on him.

During the meeting the President said he will ensure that national resources are distributed fairly, equitably countrywide.

President HICHILEMA said government will ensure the decentralisation of resources is done.

He said his government has put in plans for jobs, business opportunities, education and quality health care services for all.

This is according to the President’s Message on his facebook page.

And President  HICHILEMA says he is committed to ensure that more women are appointed to key strategic positions.

He says it is as a result of this commitment that the country now has a woman Vice President, the first woman Speaker of the National Assembly and her Deputy.

President HICHILEMA says his party has also appointed a woman as Deputy Chief Whip, Princess KASUNE.

He said this when he held a meeting with Non Governmental Gender Organisations Coordinating Council (NGOCC) Chairperson MARY MULENGA.

President HICHILEMA noted that Women participation in politics has been hampered by the hostile environment previously and this is why government is examining the relevant laws to ensure that women take the stage on the political front without being physica
ly and emotionally abused.

He says this is also the reason why government has vowed that politics of violence will be a thing of the past.

President HICHILEMA said this will make the political environment friendly for women participation.

He said government also understand the concerns about the merged and removed Ministry of Gender but also believe that elevating Gender to the Vice and President’s Office will give it the necessary attention and political will.
