No rest for Lameck Banda, Evans and Klings Kangwa as Russia League returns in eleven days

Zambian trio of striker Evans Kangwa, midfielder Klings Kangwa, and winger Lameck Banda will return to league action just two weeks after barely two weeks after finishing the 2019/2020 season.

This follows the announcement of the 2020/2021 Tinkoff Russian Premier League season calendar which kicks off on 8th August.

“Matchday one of the 2020/21 RPL season will be held from 8 to 11 August, while the last matchday will take place on 16 May.”

The calendar was developed jointly with the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) for the second year in a row.

“Last season showed the effectiveness of the mathematical approach to creating a calendar, so we continued our cooperation with the HSE. The 2020/21 season will be held on a tight schedule and we had to take into account many factors to optimise the calendar. Many options were considered, and the most balanced one was chosen from the point of view of the teams, fans and broadcaster,” said Yevgeny Savin, the competition director.

Tula finished on eighth place with 38 points from 30 games and missed out on a chance to play European football.

Evans Kangwa played 22 games with three goals while Lameck and Klings played 9 and eight games respectively.
