By Michael Kaumba:Senior Chief Nkula of the Bemba people of Chinsali district has called for issue based campaigns from politicians ahead of next year’s general elections.Senior Chief Nkula also says although everyone is free to campaign in his chiefdom,he will NOT allow  politics of falsehoods and insults  in his area.He says he has established a code of conduct in his Chiefdom which espouses truth, honesty and integrity, which every politician campaigning in his area must abide by.Senior Chief Nkula said traditional leaders are non partisan and only want to see development in their areas.He was speaking after receiving Shiwang’andu Member of Parliament Stephen Kampyongo, who called on him in Chinsali District at his palace.And Senior Chief Nkula has thanked government for delivering farming inputs under the Farmer input Support Program-FISP- on time.He said Muchinga Province is set to produce a bumper harvest as the region is also receiving adequate rains.Meanwhile, Mr. Kampyongo who is also Home Affairs Minister, said government is keen to promote agriculture in the province as the region has the potential to become the food basket of the country.Mr. Kampyongo said he is happy that defence and security wings have started acquiring land in the province for various agricultural activities.He told Senior Chief Nkula that government has procured equipment to enable the defence and security wings to venture into agriculture on a full scale.Mr. Kampyongo is in Shiwang’andu Constituency to inspect developmental projects and hold public meetings.
