No new Jersey, players owed winning bonuses a day before the new season kicks off – The story of Nkwazi 

Nkwazi Football Club will start their 2024/2025  MTN Super League campaign on Saturday when they welcome Mutondo Stars at Edwin Imboela Stadium. 

With just over  24 hours to the start of the new season, Nkwazi are yet to put their house in order. 

The ZamFoot Crew understands that the Zambia Police sponsored outfit is yet to get a new jersey for the season. 

Apparently the club also lost out on a big pay day in the transfer of one of the breakout stars of last season Brian Masanyinga who has since joined Power Dynamos. 

“The season is starting soon and the club is yet to acquire a new jersey. Okay let’s say they will use the one from last season. What about the new players ? What will they wear, they paint over the ones who left ? It’s really a sad situation,” a source at Edwin Imboela told the ZamFoot Crew. 

“The club is being run in a very unprofessional manner. Look at how they lost out on Brian Masanyinga. They got the player from Chilanga Stars but did not pay for him hence , Chilanga got him back and sold him to Power Dynamos, they lost out on a potential big pay out,” the source added. 

Apart from that the players are also owed winning bonuses for over ten games from the last season. 

“Players are also owed money from last season in terms of winning bonuses. Over ten games, they have not been paid, some for wins and others for draws.”

Nkwazi finished sixth last season with 52 points just seven points away from a CAF Confederation Cup spot.
