Nkana, Napsa suffer defeats in Confed Cup

Zambia’s envoys in the CAF Confederations Cup Nkana and Napsa Stars ended their journey in Africa with away defeats on Wednesday night.

Zambian glamour side Nkana suffered a 2-0 defeat to Moroccan side Raja Casablanca.

Raja maintained their 100 % winning streak in Group D and wrapped up their 6th win with first half goals from Idbouiguiguine and Sadaoui to claim 18 points.

Egyptian side Pyraminds beat Tanzanian side Namungo 1-0 to come second with 12 points and joined Raja in the quarter finals.

Nkana came third with 6 points and having lost 4 matches.

Beston Chambeshi’s side will now look to the MTN Super League as they fight relegation.

Elswewhere, JS Kabylie beat Napsa Stars 2-1 with striker Emmanuel Mayuka grabbing a consolation for the pensioners.

The Mohammed Fathy coached side finished bottom of the group with 4 points.

Despite Moroccan side Berkane picking up a home win over Cotonsport, it was the West African who advanced to the quarter finals with Kabylie.
