NHIMA accredits 127 Public Health Care Providers

By Cecilia MukonkelaThe National Health Insurance Management Authority (NHIMA) has accredited One hundred and 27 public health care providers.National Health Insurance Management Authority Director General, James Kapesa says this follows the Phase one accreditation process for level one, two and three public hospitals carried out countrywide.Mr. Kapesa has since called on registered members under National Health Insurance Scheme to start accessing health services from the accredited health care providers effective February 1, 2020.He told ZNBC News in a statement that phase two accreditation process for private health facilities will take place in the second quarter of the year.Mr. Kapesa said that Private health facilities have since been urged to apply for accreditation once official notification is published in the second quarter of 2020.
