Opposition FDD presidential candidate Edith Nawakwi has warned Zambians against voting for UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema in the August 11 elections.

Nawakwi who in an event of the rerun is expected to support President Lungu says he can’t back Hichilema because Zambia risked being Balkanized should the UPND leader inadvertently win the general elections next month as the man is too emotional to be trusted as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed forces.

And Ms Nawakwi vowed that she would never support Hakainde Hichilema because he was arrogant, petulant, lacks humility, courtesy and common humanity.

“I fear for Zambia if Mr Hichilema was to become president of our country because the man is so emotional. To allow such a man to be Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces would be extremely dangerous. And there is no way I can work or support the UPND, a party that has gone on rampage breaking the bones of my candidates,” Ms Nawakwi said.

Ms Nawakwi said Mr Hichilema had been claiming that he had already won the forthcoming general elections and wondered which vote the UPND leader had counted to declare himself a winner. She said the UPND had accused her of working with the Patriotic Front (PF) because she had been a curt critic of the opposition party for its violent acts and lack of respect for Zambians.

Ms Nawakwi said it was not the PF that had gone on rampage brutalizing her members in Southern Province, stating that the UPND leadership should consider checking their political mental status for their conduct.
