National prayer date set

The National House of Prayer has set Sunday, July 24th 2016 as the day for national prayers for peaceful elections.

Chairperson of the Advisory Board of the National House of Prayers Joshua Banda also says the Lusaka Showgrounds has been earmarked as the venue for the prayers.

Bishop Banda has also told ZNBC News that the board has since written to all political party leaders inviting them and their nominated aspirants for elective office to attend the prayers.

He has urged Zambians to turn out in numbers and pray for the sustenance of peace that the country has continued to enjoy since independence.

President Edgar Lungu last Sunday in Siavonga appealed to the Church to convene a national to pray for peaceful elections, following a spate of politically motivated attacks in the run up to the August 11th general elections.
