National Men’s Network calls for castration of defilers

vlcsnap-2018-11-16-07h53m12s794The Zambian National Mens Network has called for legislation that will allow the castration of defilers and rapists in the country.

Association National Coordinator, Nelson Banda feels it is high time perpetrators of sexual crimes are castrated as a deterrent measure, considering that sexual violence inflicts pain including death on the victims and severe stress on their families.

Mr. Banda says the recent defilement of two girls aged 13 in Lusaka in separate incidents calls for a change of legislation in dealing with sexual violence against innocent girls and women.

He has told QTV News that castration is the only solution to stop sexual violence against innocent girls.

Mr. Banda has noted that the handing down of long jail sentences on defilers and other sexual violence offenders has not deterred would be offenders from committing sexual violence on girls and women, therefore the need to consider castration as a lasting solution.

He has since appealed to Parliamentarians to enact a piece of legislation for the castration of rapists and defilers as they are a danger to the society.

The Zambia Police Service recorded a total of 664 cases of child defilement in the third quarter of 2018.
