The Eden University/FAZ national Division One match involving National Assembly and Kitwe United has been moved to Thursday, July 23rd, The Football Association of Zambia has confirmed.
The match has been delayed for 24 hours following the medical officer’s recommendation after Kitwe United’s COVID-19 test results were delayed. FAZ confirmed the development in a press statement by Communications manager Sydney Mungala.
FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala says all the parties involved were consulted in making the decision.
“We have had to reschedule the match to Thursday in order to ensure that all the medical recommendations that we have committed to meeting are observed. All the involved parties have been consulted and are fully aware of circumstances behind the decision,” Kashala said.
“Results for Kitwe United have delayed so we have had to act in the interest of the health of the players and everyone involved.”
“We want to urge clubs to adhere to the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health and get in touch with us (FAZ) where they have challenges,” he added.
National Assembly and Kitwe United will lock horns tomorrow, Thursday, July 23rd at Queensmead Stadium at 15:00hrs in a rescheduled week 23 encounter which will be the second National League encounter since Football returned in the new normal.
