Zambia’s High Commissioner to Kenya Ms. Joyce Kasosa and FAZ Representative and Delegation leader Mr. Kabaso Kapambwe showered congratulatory messages on NAPSA Stars on their hard-fought 1-nil victory over Gor Mahia in a CAF Confederation Cup pre-group match that was played over the past weekend in Nairobi at the Nyayo International Stadium.

Addressing the team after the match in Nairobi, Ms. Kasosa was left proud of the Pensioneers’ performance and thanked the team and the delegation leader on behalf of the Zambians living in that country for ensuring that they did a great job and traveled back home with a victory.

“On behalf of the Kenyan and Zambian Authority I would like to congratulate the team and also the delegation leaders and all the officials that have made it possible for this win,” Ms. Kasosa said.

Ms. Kasosa further urged the team to emulate the away performance and win in the return match.

“You have made us proud we watched the game, that’s the way it should be. This is your first leg and we expect another win when the return match takes place in Zambia,” she added.

Meanwhile, the FAZ representative who also happened to be the delegation leader Mr. Kabaso Kapambwe was also happy with the team’s performance.

Mr. Kapambwe also congratulated the team and thanked the Zambian High Commissioner in Kenya for warm reception during the team’s stay in Nairobi.

“I would like to congratulate you all and thank you for the good performance, also extending many thanks to our Zambian High Commissioner in Kenya and other delegations because we were well received with both hands and the result wouldn’t have come at a better time than this especially when our hosts turned our back from us,” said Mr. Kapambwe.

NAPSA Stars edged Gor Mahia 1-nil in a pre-group match of the CAF Confederation Cup in the first leg courtesy of an 86th-minute goal by Ghanaian midfielder Daniel Adoko.

The Pensioners and K’Ogalo will lock horns this Sunday 21st February 2021 at National Heroes Stadium in the return match of the competition to determine who makes it to the group stages of the Confederation Cup.
