Napsa Stars refute media reports of camping and training in Chongwe

By Aaron Mubanga Jnr | May 28, 2020

Zambia Super League side Napsa Stars has refuted media reports that they are currently camped at a lodge in Chongwe and resumed training.

According to a story in the Mast Newspaper, Napsa Stars are in Chongwe and resumed training on Sunday contrary to a presidential directive not to resume sports activities just yet.

The club has however come out and said the team has neither resumed training nor camped in Chongwe.

The club went on to say that the Mohamed Fathi tutored side has just been having gym sessions from Mika Convention Centre and have been put in small groups in order for them to keep fit while continuing to practice Covid-19 health guidelines such as social distancing as guided by the Government through the Ministry of Health.

NAPSA CLARIFIES MEDIA REPORTS ON TRAINING.

NAPSA Stars Football Club wishes to refute media reports suggesting that we have resumed training in Chongwe.

Contrary to the reports, the club would like to place it on record that neither has the team resumed the training nor is it camped in Chongwe.

The team, under the tutelage of Mohamed Fathi, has been having gym sessions from Mika Convention Centre and has been put in small groups in order for them to keep fit while continuing to practice Covid-19 health guidelines such as social distancing as guided by the Government through the Ministry of Health.

We have always said that the health of all our players comes first because we care for them and their families, and in the midst of the pandemic, we continue to put in place strict measures to ensure that all players follow them before, during and after the gym sessions.

We wish to advise the media to reach out to us through the club’s Communication Officer and verify their stories before publishing because unverified reports have potential to mislead the public.
